Who we are
R&T Automation (ABN 78 910 542 969) is a systems and automation business based in Melbourne, Victoria. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Questions about this policy go to contact@rtautomations.com.au.
Information we collect
- Contact form: your name, email address and, if you choose to give them, your organisation, phone number, the service you're interested in and your message.
- ROI calculator: if you ask us to email your estimate, your email address, the figures you entered and whether you're happy for us to contact you about the results.
- Emails and calls: whatever you include when you contact us directly.
- Website analytics: we use Google Analytics to see how the site is used: pages viewed, links clicked, device and browser type, approximate location (country or region) and how you found us.
- Technical and security data: our web server records IP addresses, browser type and pages requested, for security and troubleshooting. To stop spam, the contact form keeps a one-way hash of your IP address (not the address itself) for up to one hour.
We don't collect payment details, passwords or sensitive information through this website. Please don't send sensitive information through the contact form.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and, if you become a client, to provide our services.
- To email you an ROI estimate you asked for. We only follow up about it if you ticked the box to say we can.
- To protect the website and contact form from spam and misuse.
- To understand which pages are useful and improve the site.
We don't sell personal information, and we don't share it with marketing partners or data brokers.
Who we share it with
- Microsoft: contact form messages are delivered to our Microsoft 365 mailbox, where our email is stored.
- Google: provides Google Analytics and processes usage data under Google's Privacy Policy.
- Our web hosting provider: stores the website, its server logs and, if an enquiry can't be delivered, a temporary copy of that enquiry so it isn't lost.
These providers may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States. We use them only to run this website and our business.
Cookies and browser storage
Google Analytics sets cookies to tell visits apart and measure how the site is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The site also stores one setting in your browser's session storage so the opening animation only plays once; it is deleted when you close the tab.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries and ROI estimate requests: up to 12 months after our last contact, unless you become a client or the law requires us to keep them longer. You can ask us to delete them sooner.
- Undelivered form copies: deleted once the enquiry has been handled.
- Analytics data: kept by Google for up to 14 months.
- Contact form spam protection: hashed IP records are discarded after one hour.
How we protect it
The website uses HTTPS encryption. Contact form messages are sent to Microsoft 365 over encrypted connections, and access to our mailbox and systems is limited to the people who need it.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email contact@rtautomations.com.au and we'll respond within 30 days.
If you have a privacy complaint, contact us first so we can try to resolve it. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

We may update this policy when our website or practices change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
